The Building Industry Association of Hawaii has been awarded a federal Department of Labor grant to provide education and training to address Infectious Disease Transmission and Prevention in the Workplace.
Infectious diseases, most recently the COVID-19 pandemic, has impacted people around the world. As the industries continue to adapt, ensuring a safe and healthy workplace has never been more essential. Infectious disease risks can pose a serious problem in the workplace. From the seasonal flu to respiratory illnesses, infectious diseases can spread like wildfire through the workplace in a matter of hours, resulting in widespread worker illness, and in worse-case scenarios, death.
This training addresses Infectious Disease Transmission and Prevention in the Workplace through a safety and injury prevention training available to workers and employers in the Asia-Pacific region, specifically in Hawaii, Guam, and Saipan.
