The 2020 Hawaii Legislative Session convened on January 15, 2020. BIA-Hawaii is working hard to address legislation affecting our industry. BIA's 2020 Legislative Priorities include:
1. Repeal of the State Building Code Council.
2. Establishment of the Governor's Director on Housing position in the Administration.
3. Setting housing production goals for counties. Failing to reach housing production goals would result in a reduction in transient accommodations tax revenue for the county.
