Keiki Zone
A fun and welcoming space designed just for kids. The Keiki Zone features soft foam puzzle mats, cozy pillows, and activity tables to keep keiki engaged while parents explore the show. Special features include the Little Builder’s Workshop, where children can build their own construction project while supplies last, and opportunities to learn basic CPR skills depending on instructor availability. Families can also enjoy a green vine photo backdrop with the Keiki Zone sign and browse or purchase The House That She Built, a children’s book celebrating women in construction.
Paws & Pallets
Join us for Paws & Pallets at the BIA Hawaii Home Show on Saturday, August 9. This interactive exhibit brings construction to life with a live dog house build led by alumni of BIA Hawaii’s Pre-Apprenticeship Construction Training (PACT) Program. Designed with sustainability and creativity in mind, the kennel is constructed using repurposed pallets and showcases real-world skills taught through the PACT program.
Attendees can explore the space, enjoy upbeat music, take selfies at the builder-themed photo station, view the project blueprint, and connect with the stories of our future builders through inspirational testimonials and youth highlights on the “Why We Build” wall.
This exhibit celebrates mentorship, craftsmanship, and community. It shows how construction can be accessible, impactful, and even pet-friendly.

Anatomy of a Project with Dr. Andria Tupola
Presented by Hawaii Home + Remodeling Magazine, this special seminar features Council Vice Chair Andria Tupola, Ph.D., who will share insights into the "Anatomy of a Project," focusing on how home and community projects take shape through leadership, planning, and collaboration.
