Honolulu, Hawaii – Veterans United Home Loans just received word from Senator Schatz’s office that the Department of Veterans Affairs has increased the VA loan guarantee limit for the City and County of Honolulu from $625,500 to $721,050.

When the original 2014 loan limits were announced in December, Honolulu County’s limit was lowered to $625,500. Due to the local cost-of-living, this low loan limit would have made it difficult for veterans to buy homes in this area. Tony Dias, Branch Manager of Veterans United Home Loans of Hawaii, is thrilled this change has come so quickly.

“We are excited to spread this good news across the island,” Dias said. “We appreciate the VA being so responsive to helping our veterans achieve the dream of owning a home.”
